Area 51 Miscellaneous (part 2)

This is one of the government trucks used to supply the base:

These are not government trucks, at least as far as we know.....

Three identical vans on a very desolate road. Yeah, nothing suspicious here

Now why couldn't they get a second driver for these trucks?

Under "open range" rules, the cattle rule.

The "open range" signs were modified for a short while in 2001 with flying saucers (left photo). The bovine in the photo on the right sprouted antennae in the summer of 2002.

The graffiti on the signs above was removed, but in January 2003 the flying saucer returned.

Here is the same sign with the metropolis of Rachel in the background. Note the ET Highway makes a straight line from Rachel to Queen City Summit. While the summit looks rather close, check a map to see how distances can be deceiving in the desert.

A reflection in the hills (by purple arrow at right of photo) as seen from the a point near the Range 61 border. [Location at N37 17.326 W115 25.820] The fence line is marked along the left side of the photo.

The Alamo high school Panther's "P" as seen from Tikaboo Peak.

And just how big is the big P? This terraserver photo should help you figure that out. Note how the satellite photos do not give a good indication of altitude. Getting to the big P looks pretty easy from the terraserver photo, but in real life, this is a task best left to high school students.

The base workers from Alamo and Hiko park their cars near the 93/375 intersection to pick up the white bus.

The famed white bus is parked at night near the Lincoln County Courthouse in Alamo, as indicated in the dreamlandresort website. The bus may not look too white, but the photo was taken near sunset. [GPS coordinate N37 21 44.2 W115 10 05.0]

In January 2003, a different "white bus" was located at the Lincoln County Courthouse

This government vehicle was parked near the white bus. Is it a cammo dude vehicle?

Highway 375 has been officially named the Extraterrestrial Highway by the state of Nevada, probably against the wishes of the military who don't need any more tourists checking them out.

While hiking up Tikaboo Peak, you can see the USAF communications site on Badger Mountain looking down on you. Again, it is rumored to have cameras on it. This photo shows the two towers, but the detail is not sufficient to determine if the feds are spying on you. This site, unlike Bald Mountain, is not in the restricted zone, so in theory somebody could hike to the peak and check it out.

I spotted this white truck with government plates in Tonopah at the grocery store near the Station House hotel. [If you stay there, be sure to say  your are there on air force business  to get a discount.] As luck would have it, my room overlooked where the truck was parked, so I did a stake out to catch a camo dude getting his groceries. Well, I don't think the woman in this photo is a camo dudette. And why get a cart for such a small load? The license plates always say "Official Use Only". Go figure.

Alamo Canyon is a dry lake bed east of town.  This view is about 1/8th of the lake bed. The model rocket contest that Art Bell featured on his show was held here. The road to the canyon intersects route 93 at N37 19 59.4 W115 08 19.3. Stay on the wide road that will slowly veer to the south and you will hit the dry lake. The UGSG topo maps list this site a Delamar Lake and indicates it is an airport runway. I'm not sure if a plane lands here that it will fly again. The dry lake is referred to as Texas Lake over the military radio transmissions.

This vehicle used to be located near Hancock Summit, but was swiped by some lowlife. Only the gas tank and hood remain. The occupants were possibly abducted by aliens.

I wonder what alien technology was used to make these holes in the roof?

Getting rid of nuclear waste is the ugly problem the pro-nuclear lobby never talks about. Two likely states to take the waste are Utah and Nevada, since they are big states with small populations and lots of federally owned land. Utah at the moment has a very senior senator (Orrin Hatch), who accomplishes little in the Senate, but makes damn well sure the waste doesn't come to his state, which keeps the Dan Qualye clone in office. Now quick, can you name any of the senators from Nevada? Thought so. The GOP has written into their party platform that the Yucca Flat become the nuclear waste capital of the USA, hence this mock nuclear storage cask protest. If you want to hang out around Las Vegas or Area 51, let's hope Al Gore gets elected. [Note, Al Gore was elected, but unfortunately Shrub was selected.]

This photo was taken in Tonopah. Note the boarded up motel in the background. The region could use the jobs, but at what cost to the environment and the citizens nearby.
