The smoke upset the metering on this exposure. The smoke caught the sunlight, but the plane was in its own shadow. However, it's a nice cockpit photo so I put it in.
Almost in formation!
Note how the jet exhaust blurs the image in this photo and the next one.
Note to self: take photo just before the formation gets to the Trans-America Pyramid.
