Microflect Reflectors (Passive Repeaters)

These reflectors are generally used at site with no power available, though I have seen them used at powered facilities once in a while. One of these Microflects can be seen on Papoose Mountain just above Area 51. It can be spotted from Tikaboo and the Power Line Overlook. On google earth, it can be seen here.

My recollection is this was on the other side of the "big shack."

A slight change in 2009. The in-flight phone service is in limbo, which would explain the alterations to the sign.

Starband set up, missing the head amp, and pointed towards the Tonopah Airport. Go figure.

The Starband receiver has been replaced with yet another dish sans electronics.

Looking down on the town of Tonopah. The V shaped building is Tonopah Station. The building towards the top center right by the road is the bowling alley where the Tonopah Test Range workers park and get the bus. [Click on image for higher resolution photograph.]
