Would you rather have banner ads and pop-ups? Yeah, thought so. The images are a bit grainy due to sharpening to insure that the text can be read after it is compressed.

A video of the X-45 flying around Edwards AFB was shown. Or perhaps a clever computer animation, much like those fake moon landings..... ;-)

(For those who insist on reading the fine print.)
98-2003 Teledyne Ryan RQ-4A Global Hawk

These markings are on the other side of the plane from another photograph. The markings toward the left with the Global Hawk silhouette indicates missions flow at Edwards. The two kangaroo markings are for missions in Australia. The markings on the right...well...they refused to say what they represented.

This plane is part of the Active Aeroelastic Wing (AAW) project. Some links to the project are:

This is the very first thing you saw from the shuttle bus. You really can't appreciate the size of this plane.

I had to make sure the BAE Systems showed up else the folks on the other side of the pond would never forgive me.

The photo at the left is of the grid pattern just above the landing gear.

Note the wings are pulled back in this photograph.

Bomb bay door open and afterburners employed.

Fake bomb blast See the real thing on the Capstone webpage.

Afterburner shot where the plane is quite some distance from the crowd (which explains why the shot is grainy) Note the vapor trails from the wing tips.

Nice of them to leave the canopy open. Check out the heads-up display.
This is a warthog that other warthogs would call ugly. However, its appearance is due to the fact that it is in the process of being restored. The plane is notable in that it is the first A10.

[This must be the light version. ;-) ]

61-7967 (c/n 2018) transferred to NASA in July 1999. In flyable storage at Edwards AFB.
Now comes Miller time, er make that Red Bull Mig17 time.
