August 29th, 2003, around 9AM. Alamo, Nevada, near the airstrip. The observers were careful not to park in the white zone, which is for loading and unloading passengers only.
To mark the landing zone, Jimi Hendrix released the purple haze.
Expecting some fine guitar playing, they jumped from the plane. [Click for larger photo.]
So far, so good.
There is a yucca plant with this guys name on it waiting for him on the ground. The crew on the ground had ATVs handy if the jumpers really screwed up and missed the mark, but none did. It is unknown if tweezers were needed.
