






Yes, I am quite aware I screwed this shot up. Thanks for asking. This is the routine where the planes separate in groups of two and number five shoots through the middle.
Note that the number 5 is up side down. The pilot who flies up side down the most gets the inverted number. It appears like the pilot is looking at the crowd. [For those who nitpick, this photo is cropped from the larger one above, using a 4000dpi scan of the slide, reduced to 2000dpi to get rid of the grain. ]


This photo is comprised of the cockpits of the preceding photograph. If you look carefully, you can see that all the pilots watch the leading plane.
