Telephotography of restricted ranges
All images are not created equal
The telescope set up is touchy, There is no way around this given the
high magnification setup mounted on a light-weight tripod. Perhaps
you didn't wait long enough after moving the tripod head for the next shot,
or the wind came along and disturbed the setup, etc. Thus it best to
take a few photographs of each scene. Four shots should be sufficient.
More than six is probably overkill.
Below are three sections of a scene that was photographed 6 times.
Frame 1 is clearly crap. This might be one of those situations where
the telescope was just moved and the photographer didn't wait long
enough for everything to settle. Frame two is clearly the best of the
lot. However, frame 5 is nearly as good. Basically, you
want to take a few shots to avoid the clunker.
